Hozelock have spent many years of development and testing of the Bioforce. Not only are we confident that it works very well but it has quickly become accepted as a winner in all levels of the trade. It is a closed, pressure system holding more bacteria than a similar size filter.

Being pressurised by the pond pump means that the Bioforce range of filters can be be buried up to their lids beside the pond. The filtered water can then be fed straight back into the pond or up to the top of a waterfall. A waterfall will increase aeration in your pond.

The Bioforce filters are available with or without an Ultra Violet Clarifier built in and are the perfect partner for a Titan pump.

Bioforce is ideal for pond keepers who want simplicity, clear water and an attractive hidden filter system.

How Bioforce is so Effective

1. Water enters the filter at an angle, creating a vortex inside
the Bioforce to settle out the solids.

2. Water is forced through a number of special density foam layers.
Because the water is pressurised the foam can fill with many more
beneficial bacteria without becoming blocked. It is this larger number
of bacteria, taking pollutants out of the water, that make Bioforce
so effective.

3. 4500 and 9000 models - The water then passes through the plastic
bio media where more beneficial bacteria cleanse the pollutants.

4. UVC models - Water then passes close to the UV light, separated
from it by a quartz sleeve. UV light makes algae clump together and
sink to the bottom of the pond or get trapped in the Bioforce next
time round.

5. As the foam layers in the Bioforce collect solids a red indicator
on the lid will rise up. This signals that the foam layers need cleaning,
preferably by rinsing in a bucket of pond water.

Create Sparkling Clear Ponds

The Ultra Violet Clarifier (UVC) continues to form a key element of a clearwater system. The introduction of the Vorton and Bioforce UVC range made by Hozelock has revolutionised pond filtration with a list of features making them superior in performance, simple to install and extremely easy to clean and maintain.

WHAT IS AN ULTRA VIOLET CLARIFIER?

An Ultra Violet Clarifier is a unit positioned outside the pond and has the pond water circulated through it using a submersible pump. The water is pumped into the clarifier which consists of a quartz chamber containing an Ultra Violet lamp. As the water passes through the filter it is exposed to the Ultra Violet rays. The microscopic algae particles, causing greenwater, are made to clump together (flocculate) by the UV light so that they can be sieved out of the water by a mechanical filter.

The award winning Hozelock UVC filters are available as Vorton UVC stand alone units or Bioforce UVC filters which are combined mechanical, biological and UVC filters all in one unit.

An excessive flow of water is counter productive
as water flowing too fast past the U.V. Lamp will
not be clarified. An indication that the flow is too
fast will be a leak from the ends of the unit. If this
occurs install an in-line hose tap to reduce the flow.

Lamps have an estimated effective 9000 hour life
(3 years x 8 hours per day - 2 years x 12 hours per day
- 1 year x 24 hours per day).

Units are waterproof but MUST NOT be
immersed in water.

A Vorton UVC filter may be installed as a separate
unit with its own water pump or simply installed into
an existing hose running from the pond water pump
up to an existing biological filter or waterfall.
